Overview
Solar Photo Voltaic (PV) collectors consist of cells which convert the sun’s solar energy into Electricity. They are generally roof mounted. The photovoltaic cells convert the sun’s rays into electricity via a semi conducting substance, usually silicon. There are three types of PV solar panels – utilizing either monocrystalline silicon cells; polycrystalline (multicrystalline) cells or amorphous silicon cells.
Real Renewable Energy Solar PV panels are chosen from a select range of proven European manufacturers. High quality components are used in the production process to ensures that the units out- perform cheaper panels and afford the maximum long term benefits and performance.
Get Real…Get paid….Solar PV is supported by the UK Government by the Feed in Tariff (FIT). Read about the FIT Review here.
Solar PV arrays require daylight to generate energy; therefore electricity is still generated even on a cloudy day. As with many small scale electricity generators, the energy created by the solar PV panels is generated in direct current (DC). In the UK, domestic and commercial appliances run an alternating current (AC), the process of converting direct current into alternating current is performed by a piece of equipment called an inverter. This is installed by Real Renewable Energy as part of your installation. Design is critical for delivery of performance, the inverter unit must be carefully calculated & specified in accordance with the installation to maximize system performance. Real Renewable Energy have the technical ability and resources to ensure that the best inverter is selected for your installation and will provide seamless service and performance throughout its life.
What are the benefits of Solar PV?
Solar Panels generate electricity without producing any greenhouse gases and they do not cause pollution. Each kilowatt-peak (kWp) of electricity produced can save approximately 455 kilograms of carbon dioxide emissions compared with electricity generated from fossil fuels.
Under FIT (feed in tariffs), an obligation is imposed on regional or national electricity companies to buy renewable energy electricity. Since the electricity generated can be used by the homeowners/organisations less electricity is required from an external provider, therefore energy bills would inherently reduce.
